Rubus idaeus
Summer raspberries are deciduous woody perennial shrubs whose biennial canes yield clusters of soft aggregate berries in midsummer. Planted as bare canes in late autumn or winter, they occupy permanent beds for a decade or more, sending up new green stems each spring while second-year canes flower, fruit, and die.
