Brassica oleracea var. sabauda
Savoy cabbage is a hardy biennial brassica grown as an annual for its dense, crinkled head of leaves. Seeds are sown in April or May and transplanted into firm ground by early summer, occupying the bed for six to nine months until harvested through winter, after which the plant does not return.
