Cucumis sativus
A tender, fast-growing climbing annual cultivated under glass for its elongated cylindrical fruits. Seeds are sown indoors with heat in April, transplanted to unheated greenhouse borders or large containers in late May, cropped through summer into early autumn, and cleared after first frost.
