Physalis peruviana
A tender perennial shrub usually grown as an annual in the UK, producing cherry-sized golden-orange fruit encased in papery calyces. Seeds are started indoors with heat in February or March, planted out in late May or June once frosts cease, and plants crop from August until autumn frosts kill them.
