Sambucus nigra
Elderberry is a vigorous, hardy perennial deciduous shrub or small tree grown for its flat clusters of scented summer flowers and dark purple autumn berries. Bare-root saplings go in between November and March, occupying a permanent plot for decades and renewing top growth vigorously each spring.
