Allium schoenoprasum
Chives are a hardy herbaceous perennial grown for their hollow, slender green leaves and edible purple flowerheads. Sown or planted in spring, clumps occupy permanent ground for several years, dying back completely each winter and returning vigorously from early spring to late autumn.
